Doctorate in Management (Ph.D.)

The Ph.D. program at SoME is structured to enhance the inquisitive knowledge in pursuit of enlightening the field of study with new knowledge. It allows students considerable flexibility to work on their topics of interest that satisfy their intellectual curiosity. The pre-thesis course-work is designed to create the launch pad for a good quality research output. It has two broad objectives, viz., (1) to arm the candidates with the necessary tools and techniques of data analysis and pattern identification (2) to sensitize the extensive knowledge already created in management and allied topics.

SoME's Ph.D. program encourages researchers to take up projects that are multidisciplinary in nature, either among the departments of the School or from among the vast pool of research areas of other Schools at SNU.

How to Apply

Prospective candidates to the Ph.D. program in management may visit the SNU website and fill the online application form. Once the process is complete, the specific department of SME will invite the candidate for an interaction at SNU campus. SNU will not reimburse the travel and accommodation expense of the candidates for participation in the selection process.

Candidates, whose applications are shortlisted will receive an invitation by June 20, 2020 to attend the interview in June.

Please note: The University reserves the right to call a particular candidate for appearing in the interview.

ELIGIBILITY:

Candidates with any of the following academic qualifications from recognized Universities/Institutes are eligible to apply for the PhD program of the School of Management and Entrepreneurship:

  • Post graduate in Management, Engineering, Science, Arts, Law or Medicine, with a minimum of 60% marks in their eligibility examinations or an equivalent CGPA.
  • A valid score from any of the following tests: • JRF or Lectureship eligibility certificate examinations conducted by UGC or CSIR • GMAT, CAT, XAT, MAT, ATMA, NMAT, GATE, GRE

Selection Process

The final selection will be based on (a) academic background and proficiency (b) the score on national level qualifying exams (c) strength of the proposal (d) previous research outputs, like publications and conference papers and (e) relevant work experience.

Application Fees

  • All applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹ 1,200.00 (Rupees One Thousand Two Hundred Only). The application fee may be paid online or through a Demand Draft (drawn in favour of "Shiv Nadar University" payable at NOIDA)

Candidates may note that the University reserves the right to accept or reject any application based on its departmental screening criteria, hence all applicants may not be shortlisted for the interview. Therefore, no requests for refund of the application fee shall be entertained whether or not the candidates are called for the interview.
