M. Tech program is designed to prepare students for more highly productive careers in academics and industry. Students are exposed to a wide range of core and elective courses with in-depth syllabi, combined with specialized research which culminates in a thesis. Such an excellent combination provides the students the breadth and depth knowledge necessary for pursuing highly productive careers in academics as well as in industry.
Process engineering and intensification, Bioenergy, Waste Water Treatment , Multiphase flows, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Microfluidics and Microreactors, Film formation in water based dispersions; Applications of Ionic Liquids in Chemical Industry, Reactive Separations, etc.
Eligibility
1. B.E/B. Tech. Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline such as Petroleum Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Technology etc. with overall marks of at least 60% (or minimum 6.5/10 CGPA).
2. MSc (Physical Chemistry) with overall marks of at least 60% (or minimum 6.5/10 CGPA).
Final year students can apply while awaiting their results. Only students with valid GATE score or a cGPA > 8.0 in their qualifying degree shall be eligible for financial assistantship.
Selection process
Eligibility criteria mentioned above is the minimum standards and applications not meeting the same will not be considered. Short-listed candidates will be called for a written test and/ or interview. Selections will be based on past academic performance, written examination and/or interview. Candidates from IITs and NITs with a CGPA >=8.0 will not have to appear in a written test (if held) but only in the interview. GATE/NET score is not mandatory for them. Candidates from any institution who have qualified GATE/NET in 2019/2020 and have score >= 75 will not have to appear in the written test. Please note that not all candidates meeting the minimum eligibility criteria may be shortlisted.
Sponsored candidates from industry are encouraged to apply. There’ll get waiver from written test if they have at least 2 years’ experience in the Job. GATE score is also not mandatory for them.

University offers Teaching Assistantship that include a monthly stipend of ₹ 16000 and waivers in tuition fees (90% waiver) and Hostel fees (70% waiver) to qualified students. The assistantship is available for applicants with valid GATE score or applicants with > 8 cGPA in their qualifying degree in the absence of GATE score.
Other applicants not fulfilling the above criteria who have secured admission in the program shall not receive any financial assistantship.
Sponsored candidates shall not receive any financial assistantship. Sponsorship letter must be attached with the application.
Please note that the University reserves the right to accept or reject any application based on departmental screening criteria, hence all applications may not be shortlisted for written examination and/or interview. No requests for refund of the application fee shall be entertained under any circumstance.
